Norman Wolfinger, State Attorney State Attorney’s Office Brevard Government Center Complex 2725 Judge Fran Jamieson Way Building D Viera, Florida 32940
Subject: State of Florida v. Albert Jordan Dear Mr. Wolfinger: I am requesting Albert Jordan, the defendant in this animal cruelty case, be prosecuted and sentenced to the fullest extent allowable. A serious crime was committed and such crimes will continue to thrive in our county until those whom are caught are prosecuted and punished appropriately. Mr. Albert Jordan is getting off easy by being charged with misdemeanors as opposed to felony charges for dog fighting. On June 28, 2009, a sworn law enforcement officer with the Titusville Police Department witnessed a dog fight in progress in the backyard of the property owned by Wade Jordan. The perpetrators were not apprehended. Eight dogs appeared to be living on the property. Albert Jordan admitted to owning the dogs. The physical condition of the dogs and the conditions they were living in warranted confiscation of those dogs. Their care was inadequate. I understand that Mr. Albert Jordan is being charged with seven misdemeanor counts of animal cruelty (828.13.2A) and is being scheduled for trial. Thank you for your prosecution of Albert Jordan and for fighting for a meaningful sentence – the maximum penalty, with sentencing orders on each count to be served consecutively. Thank you for taking animal abuse seriously and prosecuting accordingly! |
